Grain Harvest

Also called Lammas, or Loaf Mass. This is the first of the Three harvest festivals and celebrates the gathering of the wheat, corn and grain harvests. Fresh loaves are made and shared at this time, and thanks are given for the bounty received from all the hard work put in from the beginning of the year.

John Barleycorn is King for a day, after which he sacrifices his life so that the tribe may live.

Now is the time to bake bread and share your blessings with those you love. Enjoy the abundance and begin to plan for the long winter to come.
