Longest Day

Also known as Midsummer and Litha.

The Summer Solstice marks the longest day & shortest night. This day is for celebrating the abundance provided by nature while acknowledging this is the height of the sun and the shorter days are to come.

At the Summer Solstice the Oak King hands power to the Holly King. The Goddess and God are a Couple and get married.

Now is a great time for community gatherings, BBQs, open fires, swimming in natural waters, blessing relationships and love magic.

COLOUR: Gold, yellow, red

TIME of DAY: Midday

TIME of LIFE: Early 20’s

HERBS & FLOWERS: Chamomile, Sage, Cedar, Frankincense, Myrrh, Pine, Saffron, Orange, Lemon, Rose, Lily, Lavender, Sunflower

CRYSTALS: Citrine, sunstone, tiger’s eye, moss agate, peridot, amber, jade

SYMBOLS: Sun symbols, sunflowers

INCENSE & OIL

The Summer Solstice smells of sunshine. When you think of the summer, you think of oranges, lemons, citrus and heavy florals - rose, lily, elderflower. Long warm days on the grass and bonfires burning. All these smells are great for use in oils and incenses.

Incense

3 parts Frankincense

2 parts Sandalwood

1 part Bay

1 pinch Saffron

a few drops Orange oil

Oil

4 drops Frankincense

2 drops Cinnamon

1 drop Petitgrain

1 drop Rosemary

Mix with 2 tablespoon Grape Seed or

Sweet Almond oil.
