The Seven Planets

The 7 Classical Planets are used in magic now, as in centuries past, with an Earth centric view. Earth was seen as the centre of the Universe and all else revolved around it. Celestial bodies were thought to influence the Earth and all things that happen upon it, and their influences were drawn from this assumption.

The Seven Planets of old alchemy and magic are:

Sun
Mercury
Venus
*Earth
Moon
Mars
Jupiter
Saturn

*Earth was not included in the original planetary lists as we were the centre, around which all else revolved.

Each of these planets comes with it’s own unique qualities - usually taken from Agrippa’s Three Books of Occult Philosophy - that are then attributed to herbs, crystals, animals, colours and metals.
